High Ohmic Resistor Manufacturers

Back to Electronic Component Directory.
High Ohmic resistors have resistances greater than 10M ohms. They come as chip resistors, or glass encapsilated hermetically sealed devices. It is important not to touch them with bare hands, as skin oil can change their resistive properties. If they become contaminated, they can be washed with isopropyl alcohol and lint free wipes and then baked to dry them out. They must also be cleaned thouroughly after being soldered, to remove any solder flux. Another trick is to place a hole in the PCB under them so that they are more easily cleaned, and to remove any parallel resistance affects of the PCB. Glass encapsilated hermetically sealed resistor are used when humidity needs to be controlled.
